Big Finish at AP $100K Tourney

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Life takes different turns sometimes that sidetrack you.
Towards the end of Oct 06, I bought a $5 scratch off lottery ticket. About 2 hours later I scratched it off to find I was a $5,000 winner. Woohoooooo! Then I treated myself to a $100+9 buyin to the Absolute Poker $100K bounty tourney Nov 4. Not only did I knock out a sit out bounty Lacey J for $500, I went on to place 2nd for $16,620.
Nov 21, I won the $11k tourney on AP for $3300 more. This goes to show, which I'm a strong believer in biorhythms. Winning streaks occur in 2-4 week increments. Same with loses. Identifying winning streaks can be profitable. Identifying losing streaks you can keep loses to a minimum.

I Won $32,000 in August 2005

August 2005 was a extremely HOT month for me. It all started when I won the $20K guaranteed on Paradise Poker. I won $7371.

Since the WSOP was in Tunica, I decided to head there. I entered a $1000+60 and placed 14th for $3715.

I then got in a $200 + 25 R&A satellite with the top 3 getting a $10K seat in the big one. I won it!

The big one came!

Day 1, I made a good showing and was in 8th at the end of the day with 48K.

Day 2 started out great. The chip leader Capt Tom was at my table. He lost a showdown and dropped $20K right off the bat. The it was my turn.
I was dealt AdQd. I raised the pot and everyone folded but Capt Tom.
Three diamonds flopped and I thought a second and pushed allin. Capt Tom asked how many chips I had. For some reason, I got real nervous and couldn't count my chips. The floor manager counted them for me. This made Capt Tom think he caught me in a bluff and he called. His mouth dropped when I turned over the nut flush. I'm now up over 100K. :) I finished him off right before 1st break and he was out.
I finished the day out in 3rd with 131,000.

Day 3 which was my birthday coincidently, I knew I was going to get a good present. I played consevatively with a few good chip gains. I kept picking on pro Kathy Liebert and robbing her pile. I peaked out as chip leader for an hour with 171,000. Then we had a table move. We got down to 19 players with 18 paying. It took almost 2 hours for the bubbleman to bust as everyone was tight. Here I am back with Kathy Liebert and a few other pro's. My cards turned terrible and my pile was dropping fast. Kathy made a comeback and I was shortstacked. I went allin with 77 and Kathy called me with A4o.
Flop 866 Turn 6 River Ace

Oh well, I shook everyones hand and went and collected my $20,835 15th place prize.

Time of my life.

After that, I went to Vegas to try again, but all I won was a great time and some good table sessions. View the http://www.CardPlayer.com logs HERE for more detail!

$20,000 Woooooohoooooooo!

Raking in the Chips!

This Guy is Bluffing!

Getting stared down by pro Kathy Liebert!

Doyle Brunson Wins 10th WSOP Bracelet

Poker legend Doyle Brunson won his 10th WSOP bracelet Saturday night, July 2nd at the Rio in Las Vegas. He is the 2nd player to do so. Just four days behind Jackie Chan when he won his 10th.

Brunson's win was not an easy one in the field of 301 players. The final table included the tough competition of Jason Lester, Ayaz Mahmood, Layne Flack, Scotty Nguyen, and Minh Ly.

Event #31: No-Limit Hold'em (Six-Handed) Championship
Location: Rio, Las Vegas
Buy-in: $5,000
Number of Entries: 301
Total Prize Money: $1,414,700
1st Place: Doyle Brunson, $367,800

Nobody was paying attention to the money piled on the table. Everyone was looking at bracelet #10 on the 73 year old poker legends wrist.

When asked how he felt about continuing to compete at poker's highest level and play marathon sessions for days at a time against younger opponents, Brunson once again exhibited his irresistible charm.

"It's hard to substitute for experience. No one has more poker experience than I do. Then again, no one here is as old as I am."
